Opened a standalone Mari Savings Account with this code last week, so here's what the process was actually like, not just the numbers.

The reward is S$8 cash, which is honestly modest compared to the credit card tier — but the appeal for me was zero commitment. No card application, no credit assessment beyond the basic account opening, no bundling.

What signing up looked like:

1. Downloaded the app — took about 2 minutes to install.
2. Applied for the Mari Savings Account, made sure it was genuinely my first application for this product.
3. Found the "Have a Referral / Promo Code?" field partway through and typed 8ZUU96EA — checked it twice since I'd read it can't be corrected after submission.
4. Got approved the same day; the S$8 showed up in the account shortly after, with an in-app notification confirming it.

What I'd tell a friend before they do this:
