If you're downloading the uSMART SG app for the first time, don't skip past the referral code field — it's easy to miss if you're going straight from App Store/Google Play into account setup.

Two ways to get the code in correctly:

1. Search "uSMART SG" on the App Store or Google Play, download it, open it, and manually type 9smd into the "Referral Code" or "Invitation Code" field during registration — it usually appears early, before identity verification.
2. Or skip manual entry entirely by tapping the pre-filled sign-up link on your phone — it opens straight into the app (or the store listing if you haven't installed it yet) with the code already attached.

What the download actually unlocks, once your account's open:

1. Up to USD 14 in cash vouchers — USD 2 each for up to 7 simple actions like your first deposit or a fractional share trade.
2. Up to USD 4 — a 0.02 Tesla share voucher, just for opening a Standard or Intel account.
3. Up to USD 180 — a six-voucher package if you fund at least S$5,000.

After the download, here's the flow:

1. Register with the code applied (link or manual entry).
2. Verify identity through Singpass MyInfo — fastest step, usually under 10 minutes.
3. Pick Standard or Intel as your account type — Trader accounts get none of these rewards.
4. Complete your qualifying actions, then redeem everything under Me → Rewards Centre.

Download-stage mistakes worth avoiding:

• 📱 Registering through the bare app-store listing without the code, assuming you can "add it later" — you can't, once the account's open it's final.
• 📱 Confusing the "Referral Code" field with a promo/voucher code field elsewhere in the app — they're not always in the same place across app versions.
• 📱 Picking Trader at the account-type screen because of its lower fees, without realising it forfeits this entire promotion.

Not eligible if: you're under 18, previously held any account with uSMART SG or another uSMART Group entity, or already claimed a Welcome Package once before.
