The OCBC Phishing ordeal had the unfortunate effect of highlighting how vulnerable Singaporeans are to online scams. We should also expect more follow-on attacks in the future.

We should really stop blaming victims by saying they were greedy, not all victims are greedy and many of them are pretty smart but somehow still fell victim, i fell into one and was miserable for months until i filed a complaint on reversalpro com and got it all returned to me. I was lucky but there are many other victims out there totally wiped out and helpless.

It has always been a vicious cycle. We cannot be complacent and depend on organizations & government. With new hacking/scamming mechanisms, new software/ antivirus are developed and new hacks/scams are out again to outdo them. End of the day, consumer needs to stay educated & informed to be on top!
