We have the same problem (well along these lines).

Tell him his one month of expenses in Starbucks can already buy him one share of the company. Today it's at $115/share. Can settle for Kopitiam coffee if he's addicted to caffeine.
ā
Or if he wants other options, on top of mind is Disney at less than $200/share. Or a more familiar one is Sheng Shiong with approx $2/share (SGD). He can buy a lot of Sheng Shiong shares already for a month without Sbux coffee then. https://www.vicollege.com/yes-investing-will-ma...

And maybe attend like a webinar together on investing. I'm sure they explain these things.

We get it. Sometimes it really feels good to spend on yourself, especially if you've been working hard for a long time. You do need to treat yourself now and again. But we do understand that these costs add up over time.
ā
Ohmyhome co-founder Race Wong told us before: "Wealth accumulation can come from maintaining a simple lifestyle.
ā
"Social media has been promoting this lifestyle ideal to treat yourself with the best, whenever you want to because YOLO. And many have, unfortunately, bought into this thinking whole-heartedly, frittering away their hard-earned money in the process.
ā
In this stage of your life, I would encourage you to know where your money goes, count up the costs and expenses. Choose saving when you can and stick to your financial goals."

$6 daily is a lot to someone with $2k salary
but it may not be a lot for someone with $6k salary.
some pple spend more than $6 on alcohol daily... or $6 more on cigarettes daily.
we all have our own indulgences, and sometime a little indulgence is necessary to carry on.... :)

One way to convince your husband to stop spending money on Starbucks every morning is to talk to him about how much money he's spending on it and how that money could be better used. For example, you could suggest that instead of buying Starbucks every morning, he could save that money for a vacation or a special purchase.
ā
Another way to convince him is to give him an alternative. Suggest him to make coffee at home or bring coffee from home to work. You can also buy him a reusable coffee cup that he can bring to work, it will save money and also good for the environment.
ā
It's also important to remember that everyone has different priorities and what is important to you may not be important to him. The key is to have a conversation, listen to each other and compromise.
ā
Hope this helps!
