MariBank Referral Code Mistake That Almost Cost Me S$20

Nearly lost my S$20 over one text field. Posting this so nobody else does the same thing.

I applied for the Mari Credit Card Bundle (S$20 tier, plus up to S$80 in card welcome rewards) and almost submitted without touching the "Referral / Promo Code" field — I'd assumed I could add it later. I was wrong.

What actually happened:

1. Downloaded the app, started the Credit Card Bundle application.
2. Nearly submitted with the code field blank.
3. Caught it before hitting submit, went back and typed 8ZUU96EA exactly.
4. Got approved within the 1–31 July 2026 window, S$20 landed in my Mari Savings Account.

The mistake that almost happened, spelled out:

• ⚠️ There is no way to apply the referral code after you've submitted your first application. Blank field or wrong code = zero reward for you and the referrer, permanently.
• ⚠️ I also nearly applied for the savings account and credit card as two separate steps — that doesn't count as the "bundle," so the S$20 wouldn't have paid out even with the code entered right.
• ⚠️ It has to be your genuinely first application for that product — if you've ever held a Mari Savings Account, Invest Bundle, Credit Card Bundle, or Instant Loan before, you're not eligible again for that same tier.
• ⚠️ Don't try to use this code alongside any other MariBank promo code — using one voids the other.

Not eligible if: you're an existing customer for that product tier, or you're outside the promo dates.

Expiry: 31 July 2026 for approval — cutting it close if you're reading this near the end of the month.

Honest caveat: the S$80 in card rewards needs actual spend (min. S$300 within 30 days) — don't count that part as "free," only the S$20 base reward is guaranteed on approval.
