I spent the last year building a Singapore personal finance app because my own numbers were scattered across five places

Hey guys! first post here , been a long lurker and this community genuinely helped me understand my finances better living in Singapore.

so a few months ago i hit a wall. i was using a finance app to track my spending and net worth, and every time i wanted to see my actual CPF numbers next to everything else, i'd have to go log into the CPF board site, get through SingPass verification, copy the numbers over manually, and repeat that every single time i wanted an updated picture. the app itself had no concept of OA vs SA vs MA, no idea what MediShield Life was, no idea how HDB loans work here. so even after all that manual work, i still couldn't see my real financial picture in one place as everything is fragmented.

that frustration sat with me for a while until i decided to just build the thing myself. honestly it started as a side project just for me, a way to actually see my own numbers properly instead of doing the CPF board dance every time. it wasn't supposed to go anywhere beyond that.

a few friends saw me using it and started asking if they could try it too and stated that it helped them understand their finances better . then more people wanted in, and eventually a few of them told me i should just put it out there properly instead of keeping it to myself. that's really the only reason this post exists. the build process has been its own journey. getting CPF contribution splits right, figuring out how to represent retirement sums properly, working out HDB equity and loan tracking in a way that's actually useful and not just a spreadsheet with extra steps. a lot of small decisions that only matter if you've actually lived here and dealt with this stuff yourself.

what it does today: tracks your CPF balances across all your accounts, your real net worth, monthly cash flow from transactions you actually log, and goals like BTO, emergency fund, retirement, all measured against your own numbers instead of some generic benchmark. you can log transactions, scan receipts to easily log a transaction, set budgets by category, see your investment breakdown, track a vehicle loan and COE countdown, the whole picture in one place, built around how our system actually works. it also gives useful insights about your daily/monthly spendings.

its called Poros Finance on the app store and it's completely free to use : https://apps.apple.com/sg/app/id6792266135

i would love to hear from people who deal with this stuff every day. what would actually be useful to you? what does your current tracker get wrong or leave out? this is genuinely being shaped by people like us, so if you've got thoughts, i'd love to hear them please.

drop a comment or dm me if you've got questions or feedback. thanks for reading this far :)
